As is the modern tradition, Marcus announced his and Lucia’s engagement on Instagram. ‘24.05.22,’ he captioned alongside a picture of them kissing surrounded by candles, fireworks, a giant love heart made of white roses, and endless petals on the ground.
According to reports, the actual engagement took place at a more intimate dinner in Los Angeles days before. Afterward, the couple celebrated with their close friends, including some of Marcus’ United teammates.

Lucia Loi was born on August 4th, 1997, and studied Advertising and Brand Management at Manchester Metropolitan University. She worked as a customer advisor between 2015 and 2016 and then landed a role as a PR executive at a Manchester-based agency Sugar. She received her degree from Harvard Business School Online in 2020.
She says in her work bio that she loves “fitness, art, and cooking” and “enjoys traveling”. Loi’s following on Instagram has drastically increased since dating the England international, FYI, she currently has 101k followers.
The stunning brunette was spotted in the stands during the England vs Colombia match at the 2018 World Cup, as she showed her support for Manchester United star Rashford.
How long have Marcus Rashford and Lucia Loi been together and how did they meet?
Marcus and Lucia met while they were at school together at Ashton on Mersey School in Greater Manchester and started dating when they were 15. It is thought that the pair have been dating for nine years. According to reports, the couple had a short break between February and December 2021 but always intended to get back together after some time apart.
The pair are very private about their relationship and have never spoken publicly about their romance. But insiders say Lucia has offered Marcus stability as he found fame with Manchester United and he often posts photos of them out shopping or on holiday together on Instagram alongside captions like ‘through thick and thin’.
