“He should be gone”- Gabby Agbonlahor wants Erik ten Hag to get rid of Ralf Rangnick at Manchester United

Erik ten Hag might try and force Ralf Rangnick out of Man United, according to Gabby Agbonlahor. The ex-Aston Villa and England attacker Agbonlahor claimed it does not make sense for Rangnick to stay at Old Trafford and Ten Hag will certainly want to see him leave.

Rangnick admitted in his final match interview as Manchester United’s interim boss in charge against Crystal Palace on Sunday that he did not know Ten Hag would be at Selhurst Park.

Rangnick took over as manager at the end of November with an agreement that he will take on a consultancy role at the end of the season. He was also confirmed last month as the new Austria manager for which he was heavily criticized by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher.

“Ten Hag will want Rangnick to just go,” Agbonlahor began. “If I was Ten Hag I would tell Rangnick to go and say ‘I’ll do this myself. You’ve done nothing since you’ve come in, I want to start fresh with my own staff’. I don’t think he needs Rangnick there at all.

“It doesn’t make sense for him to still be there anyway with him taking the Austria job. He should be gone,” he added.

Rangnick ended his spell in interim charge with a win rate of just 37.9 percent. Ten Hag has signed a contract at Old Trafford until the summer of 2025 with an option for a further 12 months.
