Who is the richest owner in Premier League with a £320 billion net worth?

Most of the richest Premier League owners are billionaire businessmen from the United States, China, the Middle East and Russia. In 2021, the Newcastle football club takeover broke the internet after the premier league owners were valued over 20 times higher than Manchester City’s. The city’s owners were valued as the highest before the Magpies’ takeover.

Newcastle United are today considered the richest club in world football, a label that’s an extension of the deep pockets of the club’s ownership group which on paper has the capacity to outspend other teams.

It flexed that financial muscle in the January 2022 transfer window, spending more than any other team in Europe, to ensure the Magpies comfortably avoided the threat of relegation. Those player acquisitions paid off with the team cruising to a mid-table Premier League finish.

Under former owner Mike Ashley, resources had not been quite as plentiful in recent seasons, but the situation quickly changed in October 2021 when a consortium took over with the promise of turning the club’s fortunes around and making it one of the major players in English and European football.

In 2021 the consortium became the richest premier league club owners after the takeover of Newcastle United F.C. The consortium comprises P.C.P. Capital Partners, Reuben Brothers and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (P.I.F.).

The takeover proceedings started in April 2020 and concluded in October 2021. According to the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute, the fund is said to have assets of over $430 billion. Both RB Sports & Media and P.C.P. Capital Partners also have a stake of 10% in Newcastle as part of the takeover.

The man believed to be behind the Saudi Public Investment Fund is the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, the 36-year-old Mohammed bin Salman. The collective wealth of the Saudi Public Investment Fund is 320 billion pounds, but Bin Salman’s individual net worth is believed to be around 13 billion pounds.

While this is just behind the net worth of 17 billion pounds that Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour has, Bin Salman effectively has the riches of the Saudi Arabian royal family behind him, which have a net worth of a whopping 1.3 trillion pounds. In this instance, Manchester City’s owners fall short of Newcastle’s new proprietors, as the Abu Dhabi royal family have a net worth of 500 billion pounds.
