Ana Maria Markovic, named the most beautiful football player in the world, has had her say on who is football GOAT, Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? The Croatian International hosted a Q and A session on X. There she was asked the age-old question, “Messi or Ronaldo?” to which she replied “Cristiano, for me, is the best,” she wrote.

This does not come as a surprise. Ana had previously praised the player in the past claiming, “My absolute favorite player is Cristiano Ronaldo. He’s just so disciplined,” she stated.“It’s super important that you give your all in sport and have a good mindset like him.”

The 23-year-old Croatian started playing football at the age of 14 and was motivated to turn professional after seeing the women’s game grow over the years. She also states that watching the men’s game was also a huge inspiration.“Motivation generated by watching some men’s football matches. Especially when Cristiano Ronaldo was playing, obviously.”

Ana, with her admiration for the player, will be looking to replicate her idol’s work as Grasshoppers take on St. Gallen on the 4th of October in the Nationalliga A.

However, she does not let these titles get to her head as she maintains a steadfast approach towards her football career as a striker for Grasshopper Club. According to the bio on her website, the player is aiming high at both club and International level. She has stated her intention to qualify for the Champions League at the club level. Whereas, the Euros and World Cup on behalf of Croatia.

Ana Maria Markovic could have left the world of football by now as she already has the means and capital for a life outside of the sport. However, her drive to succeed as a football player and her personal goal to push the women’s game forward is admirable.
