Ziyech’s goal gets Turkish commentator fired during Morocco vs Canada 2022 FIFA World Cup game

Turkish commentator fired after Ziyech's goal against Canada at 2022 FIFA World Cup
Morocco enhanced to the final 16 as the group winners after a 2-1 triumph over Canada and a goalless tie between Croatia and Belgium.
The incentive for ending first will be a difficult test against the 2010 World Cup winners, Spain, who lost their last group match to Japan during one of the most noteworthy World Cup games in modern years.
Hakim Ziyech‘s goal for Morocco against Canada may have placed them on the path to victory, but it also cost a broadcaster his occupation. Morocco has been one of the championship’s unexpected packages thus far, having defeated Belgium last time.
Consequently, during Morocco’s game against Canada, Turkish broadcaster TRT fired a commentator. Alper Bakircigil, reviewing the match for the channel, told Turkish viewers that Hakan Sukur scored the fastest goal in World Cup history. With that statement, Bakircigil engaged in a “crime” because the erstwhile Inter Milan and Parma striker’s name is restricted in Turkey due to political disparities with President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
That specific bit did not sit well with his bosses, as Bakircigil was removed in the second half and later fired. On Twitter, Bakircigil stated: “I was cut off from the TRT institution, where I worked proudly for many years, after the event that took place today. Separation is included in love. Hope to see you again. Goodbye,”.

Hakan Sukur, the one who should not be named in Turkey

Sukur was among the main stars in Turkish football during his journey, scoring 51 goals in 112 outings for his nation. With his 11th-second goal against South Korea in the 2002 World Cup, former Turkish football player Hakan Sukur maintains the record for the quickest goal in FIFA World Cup history.
After retiring, he got into politics and was subsequently associated with terrorism. He entered politics, becoming one of Erdogan’s harshest critics, which cost him his independence in the nation, forcing him into exile in the United States in 2017. Sukur has been an Uber taxi driver since moving to the United States and is still an active critic of the Turkish regime.
The former striker previously addressed the allegations, telling the German newspaper Welt Am Sonntag: “I have nothing left. Erdogan took everything: my right to freedom, my right to freedom of speech, and my right to work. I never did anything illegal. I am not a traitor or a terrorist.”
