Sadio Mane marries Aisha Tamba: How old is Senegalese star’s wife?

Former Liverpool and Southampton winger, Sadio Mane, recently married 18-year-old Aisha Tamba, just days before the start of the African Cup of Nations. They married in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, on 7th January in a traditional Islamic wedding. 

He was previously seen in a stadium that was rebuilt in the town of Bambali, Senegal. He had completely funded the project and attended the inauguration. Mane had previously funded various welfare projects in his hometown, which included schools and hospitals. He will now prepare for the upcoming AFCON, where he is the captain of his nation.

Mane posted a tweet of him and his bride on his Twitter on 9th January. In the caption he wrote “الحمد لله,” which translates to “Thank God.”

Who is Aisha Tamba? 

Aisha Tamba is Sadio Mane’s 18-year-old wife hailing from Casamance. The town borders Bambali, Mane’s hometown. She is the daughter of an architect and is reportedly well-versed in the Quran. She is in her final year of college at a private university in Mbao.

Her entire education has been funded by the Al Nassr forward, who first saw her when she was 16. Many new outlets like Sene News claim she is very shy and private, with many not knowing much about her. She also speaks the Mandingo language, which Mane is familiar with.

How long have Sadio Mane and Aisha Tamba been dating?

Aisha was first noticed by Sadio Mane when she was 16 years old. He didn’t formally approach her as she was a minor, but let his uncle know his intentions. So, the couple did not ‘date’ rather it was a courting of the couple’s marriage with the family involved. His uncle, who was friends with the family, ensured the relationship would turn into tying knots when she got to the age.

They married in a private ceremony in Dakar, where only some friends and family were present. Although no one saw this coming since Mane kept it all private, the ex-Liverpool star had made his intentions known regarding how he thinks of his ‘soulmate’. 

The woman I marry will not be on social networks. I want to marry a woman who respects God and prays well. Everyone has their own way of making their choice of love.

Mane and the Senegalese National Team will play their first match of the AFCON on 15th January against Gambia. Their 2nd game will be against Cameroon and the final game of their group stage is with Guinea. They are the defending champions of the tournament, winning the tournament for the first time in 2021.
