India vs Nepal: The SAFF Championship has been a roller coaster ride from the very beginning with each of the five teams giving an edge to edge knock to each other. But only two teams at the end conquered the top of the table to reach the finals, India and Nepal. India has been an absolute beast of a team in the entire competition as they look forward to bag their eighth title in the SAFF Championship 2021. Although they started the competition weak with two draws in their first two matches, they still are the only team in the competition to still remain unbeaten. In their last game they went up against the host side, Maldives where the Indian side dominated to secure a comfortable 3-1 victory.

Manvir Singh was there for the team when they needed him and scored the opener for the Indian side, but only few minutes after Pritam Kotal conceded a penalty which led to Maldives equalising just before the half time. Sunil Chettri, the Captain of the Blue Tigers scored back to back two goals in the second half giving India the lead and the win needed for a ticket to the final.

Nepal has been a great team throughout the competition and showed absolute supremacy in the beginning of the competition as their qualifications depended on their last match with Bangladesh. They only needed a draw to make it through to the finals which they were able to secure against Bangladesh. Although Nepal seem to have been dominating the game, they did not find the net first unlike there opponents Bangladesh as Sumon Reza gave his team the much needed 1-0 lead to boost the morale.

Nepal were on their top game with their attacking plays but Bangladesh also did not give in easily as their defense proved to be an absolute masterclass until some silly errors which cost them the Championship finals. The red card of Anisur Rahman Zico, the goalkeeper started the downfall of Bangladesh as they were down to ten men. Just before the end of the first half Bishwanath Ghosh conceded a penalty which proved to be the most costly as Anjan Bista converted from the spot giving Nepal the much needed one point for Qualifying for the first time in the finals of the SAFF Championship.

The match between India and Nepal for the SAFF Championship 2021 Finals will be played in the Maldives National Football Stadium like all the matches for the competition. The stadium is in Malé, Maldives and has a capacity of 11,850.

In the Finals both India and Nepal will be on the top of their game as both of these teams have already faced each other once in the group stage where the Indian side seemed to have dominated the game and won the match. But Abdullah Almutairi will definitely be coming up with a better strategy against Igor Stimac’s Indian side. The Prediction for the match is India 2 – 0 Nepal.
