Sweden emerged victorious against Slovakia with a narrow margin of 1-0 as they maintained their spotless record against Slovakia and moved to the top of Group E as Sweden remains unbeaten in the EURO 2020. A largely eventless match was spurred into action when Martin Dúbravka’s ill-timed challenge on Quaison awarded a penalty which was coolly converted by Emil Forsberg. The match had a controversial ending as Slovakia’s shouts for handball were turned down by VAR. With Sweden’s victory, Group E is blown wide open as we await a spectacular battle for the knockout spot.
