Tottenham were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi finals and Tottenham boss Antonio Conte was right on hand to give his honest assessment and his thoughts on the game. The hosts were up and running from kickoff and they managed to take the lead inside 10 minutes when Kai Havertz was played in on goal by Marcos Alonso. Tuchel’s side went to dominate the game. Some awful defending by Japhet Tanganga from a Chelsea set piece saw his header bounce off his teammate Ben Davies and into his own net.

Spurs performance in the second half improved but it was too little too late. Spurs head coach Antonio Conte was fuming at his team’s performance and did not hold back from showing his disappointment after the game.

“If you compare the two teams there is not a comparison. We are talking about a team ready to win – today we have seen the difference between the two teams. We are a team in the middle. This game confirmed what I thought about the difference between the teams. In the last years the level of Tottenham has dropped a lot.” The former Chelsea boss said.

We need so much time, and patience.”
