Tim Sherwood believes Ralf Rangnick is no longer a contender to manage Manchester United
Ralf Rangnick
Sky Sports pundit Tim Sherwood thinks Manchester United should and would not appoint Ralf Rangnick as the manager next season. He says that there has been no improvement in the Manchester United team’s performance at all compared to what it was under Ole Gunnar Solkjaer.
“For what he’s produced since he’s gone in there, there’s no improvement since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer,” the pundit said on Sky Sports.
“I don’t see any playing style differently, I don’t see the results improving. He’s absolutely managed his way out of a job.”
Sherwood’s comments come after Manchester United drew 0-0 at home to Watford last weekend, the third time in five Premier League matches that they have failed to win.
Sherwood’s comments come after Manchester United were held onto a disappointing 0-0 draw at home to Watford last weekend, the third time in five Premier League matches that they have failed to win.
Ralf Rangnick joined Manchester United as an interim manager in the latter part of the last year for this season and his team is yet to show any consistency. Manchester United currently sit fourth in the Premier League table with just two points separating them from fifth place West Ham.
Rangnick’s men are on for a test against league leaders Manchester City in their next match as they travel to the Etihad Arena for the Manchester Derby tomorrow.

Rangnick on Manchester United’s manager next season
When asked about whether Rangnick would continue at the role, the interim manager did not rule anything out and said that he has not thought about it, and is concentrated on the upcoming games for Manchester United.
He said, “I have no idea and I haven’t had any thoughts about that because my focus is on Sunday, and then the next game against Tottenham, Atletico… and to be honest there is no time and space for me to think about anything else.”
There’s a good chance that the talk of Rangnick taking on the job beyond the end of the season is futile as the 63-year old German is set to take on a consultancy role at Old Trafford in the summer.
Rumours suggest that PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax’s Erik ten Hag are the favourites for the managerial role at Manchester United next season.
