Sevilla vs Wolfsburg: Match Preview
The two teams had a thrilling matchup against each other in this year’s Champions League previously. The first half was a dull one with no gallantry attempts from either of them. The second half was compensated for. Renato Steffen scored a brilliant goal in the opening minutes of the second half which was met with a mind-blowing equaliser in the 87th minute of the game. A penalty taken by Ivan Rakitic pulled off a brilliant equaliser.
Currently, Sevilla are placed fourth on the Group G table with zero wins out of four games while Wolfsburg are placed third on the points table having won a standalone game out of four games. It’ll be an exhilarating contest of football as the two teams meet again.
Sevilla are walking into this encounter with a disappointing 1-2 loss against Lille in their previous game. Sevilla took the lead quite early courtesy of Lucas Ocampos’ goal in the 15th minute. That brilliant lead was equalised by a penalty from Jonathan David in the 43rd minute. Minutes into the second half, Nanitamo Ikone scored and got Lille in front and that turned out to be the winning goal.
Meanwhile, Wolfsburg are walking into this encounter with a 2-1 win over RB Salzburg. Ridle Baku’s brilliant goal in the third minute was met with an equaliser from Maximilian Wöber. Later in the second half, Lukas Nmecha’s brilliant goal helped Wolfsburg claim a 2-1 win over the Red Bulls of Salzburg.
