Lionel Messi was announced the winner of the 65th edition, Ballon D’or 2021 on Monday evening in the prestigious ceremony of France Football awards with Robert Lewandowski finishing close second followed by Jorginho in the third place.
The Argentine superstar has now written history in the footballing world by winning the Ballon D’or for the Seventh time now. The Argentine striker had the stats to back up his coronation although there are still a lot of debate on Robert Lewandowski being the better choice for the prize.
Other awards were given out in the ceremony last night which included Kopa Trophy won by Pedri, Striker of the Year won by Robert Lewandowski, Ballon D’or Feminin Won by Alexia Putelas, Yachine Trophy won by Donnaruma and Club of the Year won by Chelsea.

All things kept aside, Thiago Messi stole the show at the last minute of the ceremony as he started dancing in his seat while his father was awarded the most prestigious honour in the Ballon D’or ceremony
Thiago Messi was filled with joy and gleam alongside Matteo and Ciro who were seen clapping and putting the thumbs up every time the camera was turned in their direction, and they should be as their father was on the stage creating history and record which might be unbreakable in the impending future.
Lionel Messi attended the ceremony just as always he does with his three sons Thiago, Matteo and Ciro alongside his wife Antonella Racuzzo. Chants of “Messi! Messi!” broke out in Paris as the king made entry into the red carpet last night.
