Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are considered the epitome of men’s tennis today. The two tennis titans have won seven Grand Slam titles and ten Masters 1000 titles combined, with the potential to achieve even more.

In a recent interview, former French tennis star Stéphane Simian spoke about this growing rivalry. The former top-20 player said she felt privileged to witness the careers of both Alcaraz and Sinner.

The rivalry between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner can only be beneficial for them. They push each other, they study each other, they improve. This is the engine of greatness. And we, the privileged spectators, can only thank them.

Alcaraz was the first to reach the top, winning the US Open and two Masters 1000 titles to end the season as World No. 1. He later added three more Grand Slam titles in 2023 and 2024.

Sinner, on the other hand, rose to prominence in 2024. He won two Grand Slam titles, three Masters 1000 events, the ATP Finals, and became the first Italian to reach the World No. 1 ranking. He began 2025 by winning his third Grand Slam title and a second Australian Open crown.

Carlos Alcaraz beats Jannik Sinner in prize money record

Four-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz claimed his first Monte Carlo Masters title in 2025. He beat Lorenzo Musetti in the final to win his second trophy of the season. This victory increased his total ATP titles to 18, which includes four Grand Slams and six Masters 1000 wins.

Along with the trophy, Alcaraz earned a big paycheck of €946,610 (around $1,021,255). He started the event ranked seventh on the 2025 prize money list. But after winning Monte Carlo, he jumped to the top with total earnings of $2,376,810 for the year.

Jannik Sinner, who is currently banned and has only played once this year, moved down to second. His earnings so far come only from his Australian Open win. Behind him are Jack Draper, Alexander Zverev, and Alex de Minaur, who round out the top five.

Alcaraz’s success in 2025 pushed his career prize money past $40 million. His total now stands at $40,231,787 since turning pro in 2018. He became the first of his generation to pass that milestone, just ahead of Sinner, who is stuck at $39,389,088 due to his suspension. Sinner is still likely to join the $40 million club soon.

Carlos Alcaraz improves record in Grand Slam and Monte Carlo finals

Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz won his first Monte Carlo title on Sunday. He lost the first set to Lorenzo Musetti but came back strong to win 3-6, 6-1, 6-0. The win showed again why he performs so well in big matches. He now has a 10-1 record in Grand Slam and Masters 1000 finals combined.

Alcaraz has won all four of his Grand Slam finals. In Masters 1000 events, he has won six finals and lost just one. That loss came against Novak Djokovic in the 2023 Cincinnati final. It was a close match where Alcaraz had a match point and led by a set and a break. The match lasted 3 hours and 49 minutes — the longest best-of-three ATP final since 1990.

His overall record in finals is 18 wins and 5 losses. This includes 4-0 in Grand Slams, 6-1 in Masters 1000s, 0-1 at the Olympics, 6-2 in ATP 500s, and 2-1 in ATP 250s. His success rate in finals shows how well he handles pressure.

Alcaraz is also making history at a young age. He is only the second player to win six Masters 1000 titles before turning 22. The only other player to do this is Rafael Nadal, who had 11 by that age. Alcaraz has a chance to win a seventh in Madrid, just before his 22nd birthday. Before that, he’ll compete in Barcelona, where he is the top seed and a two-time champion.
