James Harden and Hakeem Olajuwon

The trade saga of James Harden recently separated him from his eight-year bond in the Houston Rockets. The 2018 KIA MVP finally bided farewell to the team that made him a superstar. Since 2012, Harden was the best player in the Houston Rockets. Although NBA legend, Hakeem Olajuwon was one of the finest, yet Harden did his part. Harden could not provide a breakthrough to the title. Hakeem Olajuwon was really impressive in all aspects for the team. Hence, former NBA star, Vernon Maxwell has a similar opinion.

Hakeem was really a success in his rookie season with the H-Town. He was also the reason the Rockets could clinch the title in 1994 season. Olajuwon outplayed centers like Shaquille O’Neal, David Robinson and Dikembe Mutombo. He was in the pinnacle of his dream run in the NBA averaging his career best in that season. Recently the Rockets’ star, James Harden decided there was no chance left of him in Huston.  With the trade, a lot of criticism surfaced. Vernon Maxwell, the former NBA champion also put forth his opinion where he stated that Hakeem is the GOAT at Houston and not Harden.

Hakeem Olajuwon is a lot better than James Harden

Vernon said, “I like James Harden and I know some of you young bucks were trying to make the argument but this isn’t up for discussion. Dream is the H-TOWN goat. Unfollow me if you think otherwise.” During the years, Harden has been undoubtedly one of the most improved players. But down the lane the matchup between him and Olajuwon cannot even be compared. The best scorer could not aid his team a title. He fell behind after Chris Paul’s injury in 2018 playoffs and lost. Olajuwon outplayed legendary centres in his career. He was really dominating.
