Basketball fans know Kyle Singler as a former NBA player who once won a national championship while playing for the legendary Duke coach, Mike Krzyzewski.

Coach K is heralded for developing several NBA-ready prospects, many of whom have even gone on to become Hall of Famers. But the 6’8″ forward was not destined to reach that level.

He played just seven seasons in the best league in the world. After his minutes and impact declined over time, the Oklahoma City Thunder waived him. However, he continued to get paid since the organization decided to use the stretch provision.

After a brief stint in Spain, the Oregon native retired from professional basketball at the age of 31. He cited personal reasons, which left many to believe that his heart may not have been in the game anymore. Now, some concerning videos posted on his Instagram page point to a different, and more serious problem.

Man, Coach K has set me up. Set me up, man. I have no power. I have no house. I’ve reached out to coach and everybody has turned the other way. I’ve reached out to coach and he has fully dismissed the message. You guys are cutting my power off, breaking into my house, stealing money, ruining my life. I reached out to Coach K, and all he did was sit me on the bench. Thanks, man.

This was the first video Kyle Singler posted on his account, in which he was calling out Mike Krzyzewski for allegedly ignoring his calls for help. He claims that he has been left out to dry, and that his living conditions are uncomfortable.

Kyle Singler claims people are out to ‘kill him’

The open call to Mike Krzyzewski was part of the first video. Kyle Singler then posted a video twice on his account where he detailed how he cannot live a normal life anymore in Oklahoma City.

I’m out in Oklahoma, I go out walking the street, I get pulled, I get arrested, I get f–king checked, I get kicked out of restaurants. I can’t even live anymore. Can’t even say, ‘Hey, how’s it going?’ without confrontation… I’m stuck at my house, and I can’t leave, I feel imprisoned… Everybody’s after my money, trying to kill me. What’s going on? What’s the deal?

The 38-year-old again calls out Coach K in this video, asking the Hall of Famer to help him and not leave him out to dry. In both videos, Singler is seen pacing in a residence.

He last played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he was teammates with the now-retired Russell Westbrook. That probably explains why he might be settled there. However, this is not the first time the former second-round pick has posted such ‘concerning’ videos.

In November 2024, Kyle Singler posted a similar video, claiming he feared for his life. That video prompted veteran NBA star Kevin Love and the players’ association to reach out and help.

Kyle Singler was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend last October

These videos are just the latest in what has been quite the disturbing last few years for Kyle Singler. Just last October, the former McDonald’s All-American was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor assault on his girlfriend.

Officers responded to a 911 call that detailed how the basketball star was chasing a woman outside a residence. Singler’s girlfriend later told the police that he had grabbed her head and shoved it to the ground.

The woman and Kyle Singler share a child. However, this attack was enough for law enforcement to book him. He was later released on a $6000 bond. This incident shows how, year after year, the Duke star has been in the news for the wrong reasons, and now he is calling out for help.
