Martavis Bryant is only 32 years old, certainly not at an age when he should retire from football. However, opportunities have been slim for the former Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders wideout, who last played in the NFL in 2018. Therefore, he is seeking an opportunity to play in the NFL for a while longer.

The former Clemson wide receiver recently appeared via video conference on Queen City News. During the interview, Bryant was asked about his future and his plans on the gridiron. In response, he said that he is ready for his next challenge shall it come his way.

I got a lot of football left. Still love the game, never stopped loving the game. I had to take some time to reflect on myself and get my situation straight off the field. I did that, I put in a lot of work. There’s still so much left I can do. I know I can contribute to somebody that wants to give me the opportunity.
Martavis Bryant said

He played in the XFL last season, but he feels he has a lot to offer in the NFL. Therefore, Bryant wants the opportunity to show his worth so that he can contribute to any team that might require his services.

Martavis Bryant was exceptional during his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers. With his progression from his first year to his second, he was becoming a mismatch for opposing defensive backs. His 6′ 4″ frame and a combination of brilliant separation skills and good hands made him effective on deep balls and in the redzone.

He believes those skills are still there and he can be of use for a team looking for a solid red zone target. The Dallas Cowboys did take a chance on him last season but did not continue with him. But Bryant believes he can still contribute at the highest level.

Martavis Bryant could have been great

Martavis Bryant was almost on the verge of becoming a top wide receiver after his second season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. But then he was suspended for a repeated substance abuse violation, which would have been his third season in the league.

After returning from suspension, the pairing of Bryant and star wideout Antonio Brown was supposed to cause problems for the rest of the league. Instead, his frustrations led to a trade away to the now Las Vegas Raiders. But just after playing eight games, he was suspended indefinitely for his third violation of the substance abuse policy.

The NFL reinstated him last season. However, it shows that his issues with substance abuse and ego led to his career not going anywhere close to what his abilities could have taken him. Martavis Bryant would probably remain yet another ‘what if’, unless of course he makes his way back to the top gridiron.
