Max Verstappen the 2021 Formula1 world champion has recently shed light on the condition on which he would join the Le Mans 24 competition sometime in the future.
It has been stated by motorsport.com on Twitter that the 2021 Formula1 champion Max Verstappen has talked about participating in 24 hours of Le Mans and has said “I would love to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I don’t know yet when it will happen. I’ve watched this race many times before and I was there even when my father was racing there. I think it’s a very good race. I want to participate in the future, but I will do it with my father.”
It seems Max really likes the competition and wants to get a feel of it for himself as well. Although, he has said that he is only going to participate in the competition with his father.
Max’s father Jos Verstappen has previously participated in the Le Mans competition in 2008-2009. During that time he participated in Van Merksteijn Motorsport, Aston Martin Racing.
Max Verstappen recently participated in the virtual LM 24
Max Verstappen has always had a soft spot for the Le Mans and recently he was seen participating in the virtual Le Mans 24 for the Redline team. This is something that Max prefers to do in his time off from Formula1.
Max and his team were in a commanding position in the race after building a significant lead over the nearest rival and were cruising. However, things took a south turn as due to a blip in concentration Max went over the kerbs and saw his car hitting the kerbs at high speed.
This was the end of the race for the team as they crashed out in the 7th hour of the competition.
Max is known for trying out different things and if we go by what Max has recently said about the Le Mans, it won’t be a surprise if we see him competing in the Le Mans with his father somewhere down the line. Max is quite fond of the competition and wants to give it a go at least once.
