“Australia is at the feet of Charles Leclerc,” Italian media mock Red Bull over Ferrari masterclass at Albert Park
Charles Leclerc
Charles Leclerc and Ferrari have lit up every circuit that they have been to and Albert Park was no different. Charles Leclerc was on song from get go, dominating free practice, qualifying and ultimately the race. We saw a masterclass from the Monegasque driver which helped him extend his lead to 34 points over Mercedes’ George Russell. We expected more resistance from Max Verstappen and Red Bull but the RB-18 was no match against the F1-75 in Melbourne.
Red Bull had a mixed weekend with Sergio Perez securing a podium after a string of unfortunate results and Max Verstappen retiring from the race due to a potential power failure issue. This can be a major dent in Max Verstappen’s quest to retain his maiden title. But, it’ll be harsh to put the entire blame on him as he gave his 100% during the race and there’s nothing else he could have done about it.
Charles Leclerc claimed his second victory of the season within the first two races of the 2022 Formula One Career. The Monagesque started the race in Pole Position ahead of the Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez and then went unrivalled for the rest of the race. And the Monagesque claims his F175 was tuned perfectly to allow him to claim his second victory in a dominating fashion.
International Media react to the dominant display of power by Ferrari and Charles Leclerc at the Australian GP
Italian newspaper absolutely demolished Red Bull after Ferrari’s thunderous win at Albert Park.
Gazzetta: “Bye, bye Red Bull. Australia is at the feet of Charles Leclerc and the brilliant F1-75.”
“In Bahrain and Jeddah, Max was glued to the red car, but this time the RB18 could not even see the back of the prancing horse, which galloped in Albert Park.” As reported by racingnews365.
Tuttosport: “Charles the great; Leclerc phenomenal in Melbourne.“
Corriere: “The Beauty and the Beast.”
Ferrari and Charles Leclerc have a healthy lead going into the fourth lead of the season. It’s too early to write Red Bull and Max Verstappen off but if they don’t find the answers soon enough, it can be curtains for the Milton Keynes outfit.
