Charles Leclerc the Formula1 driver for the Ferrari Formula1 team has recently shed light on the one incident that according to him has been the most terrifying moment for him. Charles Leclerc is a rising star of the sport which is viewed by many as a future champion in Formula1.
It has been stated in Essentiallysports that Charles Leclerc recently sat down for an interview with an Italian magazine during which he has shared an incident when he was most frightened. While talking about it he said “Honestly…I felt scared in 2017 when I thought I could not become a Formula1 driver.”
The young Charles made his debut in Formula1 with Ferrari sister team Alfa Romeo in 2018. Charles was promoted to the main team in the very next year and since then he has delivered strong seasons for the Maranello-based Ferrari Formula1 team. It is no fluke that he is still with the Ferrari team because at Ferrari the demands are quite high as compared to most of the other teams on the grid.
Charles Leclerc has always been a fearless driver and while talking about it during the interview he said “Never afraid of speed, the day I am afraid, I will immediately stop racing because living in fear is half living.”
Charles believes there is no point in racing if one is afraid while being on track and feels a driver must push the car to its optimum limit. Charles has a strong mentality and that is what is required if one hopes to become a world champion.
Charles Leclerc on his fearlessness
Charles has always had a fearless attitude and feels it is something that has come to him from his “zeal” for driving, Leclerc fell in love with driving when he was only four years old. Charles bunked kindergarten at the tender age of four in order to get his first taste of karting.
Since then he has never looked back and while talking about it he quoted “For my first car I chose the red color, and after three laps I fell in love with this sport, I couldn’t understand the concept of braking.”
While talking about the love story he further added “On those tracks, I started dreaming of becoming a pilot then growing up I realized that I could make my dream come true and turn it into a job opportunity.”
The first car that Charles Leclerc drove was red and the way his career is going it won’t be a surprise if he stays at Ferrari for the rest of his Formula1 career. Moreover, he has got the backing of the hierarchy at Ferrari, and their team Principal Mattia Binnoto in the past has even gone on to say that Charles Leclerc is going to be their next world champion.
