Christian Horner, the Red Bull team principal has recently weighed in on the importance of Sergio Perez in the Red Bull F1 team.

It has been stated in GPblog that Sergio Perez faced a lot of criticism during the initial stages of the 2021 F1 season but at the end of the year, however, the Mexican managed to develop himself and now has the confidence of Horner behind him.

The Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has emphasized that the Red Bull team cannot run only with the help of Max Verstappen and needs someone in the other car to do their bit as well. In the last race of the last season, Sergio Perez showed his true potential and was able to play a key role in Max Verstappen’s 2021 title triumph.

Horner is very optimistic that the best of Sergio Perez is still to come and believes that the Mexican is going to hit some high points in the upcoming season of F1.

“Checo is finally finding his level at the right time. He’s very tough, he never gives up,” Horner let us know. “Sergio is a great team player. That’s what we need in this battle.“

The Red Bull team principal earlier has said that the confidence in the Red Bull team is running really high and he is very happy with the new developments that the team has made this year.

Horner is optimistic that the Red Bull team would be able to hit the ground running in Bahrain and from there would be able to carry forward the form into the rest of the 2022 F1 season. He has also said that Qualifying for the race is scheduled for Saturday and it will allow the drivers to start their race preparations a day later.

The Friday practice sessions are going to be really important given Bahrain is hosting the first race of the season and it is also going to be crucial for the teams that they are able to run their test programs without any hitch so that drivers are able to get all the necessary information, that would help them in Qualifying and ultimately during the Grand Prix.
