Fernando Alonso was on a fast lap and was looking all see to make an appearance in the Q3 session for the race, but all his good work was upheld when he was blocked off by Daniel Riccardo at the final straight of the lap. He was fuming with anger as he got knocked out. The evening got a lot gloomier for Fernando as he later found out that Daniel managed to get into Q3 in 10th position. During his interview, he reminisced about the past and told the media that the officiating standards were way better in 2018, and in the past couple of years the standards have gone down rather than going up. He further added that the rules were quite clear and strict and drivers had to follow them to the last word.

In recent years the officials have become soft as they let drivers play around with their out laps and in doing so they sometimes impede fast-approaching cars. He vouched for a special referee for the sport and given this has come from a legend of the sport, we just might see a referee in the future years of Formula1.
