Fernando Alonso ‘sprinkles magic’ on the track on final day of Bahrain testing as he ‘rolled back the years’

Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso has been one of the most influential drivers of this new modern era of Formula 1. The two time world champion hasn’t had the success that he had in mid 2000s when he went on to become a two time world champion. But with 32 wins and 98 podiums under his belt, it’ll be baffling to write off this ageing beast. The Spaniard seems to getting back into form.

With Fernando Alonso, come a lot of complications, as we saw in his time with McLaren where absolutely ran the show and it seemed like everything was done to please him and not to make the team better. It wasn’t the ideal situation but it seems if one wants to have Fernando Alonso, they have to deal with all of this. But if we remove that, Fernando Alonso still has the skill set to be the best in the business.

Alpine is his new employer and he seems to have clicking for them and might prove to be bang for their buck. The Spaniard rolled back the years on the final day of testing as he was there and there about with the pace setters. Fernando Alonso was able to minimize the effect of ‘porpoising,‘ as confirmed by Alpine Sporting director Alan Permane.

The sporting director also confirmed that Fernando Alonso isn’t entirely happy and feels that he can go much faster than his current time on this ‘super fast A522‘. He said, “The team found a solution on the final two days of testing having figured out how to turn their porpoising on and off “whenever” they want to.”

“We know why it happens and what stops it. We know when it makes us faster or slower.”

“Fernando was still not entirely happy. He wants to go faster and sees problems with the car. He is much happier now, of course.” As reported by planetf1.

We don’t expect Fernando Alonso and Alpine to fight for the title or for pole come this weekend, for that matter. But the signs are encouraging for them to break out of the midfield and become the best of the rest.
