Ferrari team had a pretty solid first testing for the upcoming season of Formula1 and the former racing driver turned F1 analyst Jolyon Palmer has recently given his opinion on how the prancing horse is looking ahead of the 2022 season.

It has been stated in chepoker that Ferrari did an excellent job in the pre-season testing in Barcelona and Jolyon Palmer is now totally convinced that the Italian team is going to be a major player in the race for the 2022 world championship.

The Prancing horse was impressive on all three days of testing and Charles Leclerc even posted the best time on day two with 1:19:689, ahead of Pierre Gasly and Daniel Riccardo. Moreover, the Maranello-based outfit looked solid in the mileage count as well as they were the team who did the most laps of all the 10 teams participating.

Over the past few seasons, they had been struggling in their bid to challenge for the title but 2022 is looking like the season where they can really hurt other teams. Charles, Carlos, and Mattia Binotto are all very optimistic about their chances during 2022 and they believe that they have managed to find a sweet spot when it comes to their F1-75.

It has been some time since the Italian team won a world championship as they last were able to get their hands on the world title in 2007 when Kimi Raikkonen was their driver. But 2022 could prove a different story if somehow they manage to hit the ground running from the beginning of the season.

Previously, their team Principal Mattia Binotto has described their car as a brave one and believes that they must challenge Mercedes and RedBull for the 2022 world championship.

Jolyon while talking about the Ferrari’s chances for 2022 has said “The Barcelona tests for Ferrari could not have gone better than this. Carlos Sainz has done more than anyone else, with Charles Leclerc not too far away. The car seems to have no mechanical problems: its innovative design, with these unusual sides, seems to be a risk, but positive signs are coming from Maranello and what we saw in Spain has confirmed this.”

Jolyon believes that the Ferrari team has made progress and their two drivers who have different styles of driving could very well help the team in achieving its objectives for the 2022 season.

Sainz is very clean, while Charles is decidedly more aggressive, demanding a lot from the rear. The Monegasque has pushed from the start without the fear of sudden jerks with oversteer, something that Ferrari has suffered in recent years.”

Given what Jolyon has said about the Ferrari team, it will probably not come as a surprise if Ferrari is seen challenging Mercedes and RedBull during the season. What are your thoughts on Jolyon Palmer’s assessment?
