Helmut Marko rubbishes claims of Lewis Hamilton retiring, believes the brit is too good to stop.

Helmut and Lewis

Helmut Marko the RedBull team adviser has dismissed the claims that are saying that lewis Hamilton is planning on retiring from Formula1. He does not feel that this is the case and believes he is desperate to get that 8th world title under his belt.

It has been stated on Twitter by formularacers that Helmut Marko has said “Lewis will do everything to get his eighth title. He is still way too good to stop. He was able to deal with defeat before and can do it now.” He is convinced that Lewis has still got the hunger and desire to do great things in the sport and is not going to leave Formula1 just yet.

If we go by what Helmut Marko has said about Lewis Hamilton, it won’t be a surprise if we see him zoom past all the competition during the 2022 Formula 1 season. Helmut Marko has backed Lewis and his ability on the wheel and is almost certain that Lewis is going nowhere anytime soon.

Lewis Hamilton missed out on his eighth world title at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after a controversial decision on part of Micheal Masi, the FIA race director. During the race, Lewis had managed to build up an unassailable lead but when Nicholas Latifi crashed out on the 52nd lap of the 58 lap race all the good work was undone.

What happened afterward is still something that experts of the sport and fans find difficult to wrap their heads around. Micheal Masi let a few cars pass the safety car whereas the rule says all cars should be allowed to pass. This wasn’t the case and Max was able to go for a cheap pit stop which gave him an additional advantage going into the Final Lap of the race.

When the race got going again Max was on fresher tires and was able to go past Lewis who was running an old set of hard compounds.

Given all this, one has to back Helmut Marko’s statement and say that Lewis will definitely not be retiring and fans are going to see him sparkle his magic in Formula1 for a few more years at least.
