“He’s got a very good chance,” Ted Kravtiz opines on Lewis Hamilton’s chance to win Formula One 2022 title

After a rather disappointing end to his 2021 title campaign, Lewis Hamiton has his target fixed at the 2022 Formula One season championship. He looks more focused and dangerous despite new regulations in place and other drivers and teams looking impressive during the First Pre-season Test.

Hamilton lost the final race in Abu Dhabi to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen after racing Wheel-to-Wheel in a nail-biting 2021 season. The controversial ruling by Masi allowed the cars between Hamilton and Verstappen to unlap themselves giving the Dutchman a chance to make the overtake and claim his maiden Formula One Driver’s Championship title.

After the setback, the 7-time world took a much-deserved break from social media and is finally back on the grid. With a conclusive practice at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Ted Kravtiz believes Hamilton is back in contention for the 2022 title.

Ahead of the new season, new regulations have made the 2022 grid a level playing field. Teams like Ferrari and Mclaren have shown pace in their 2022 cars. While drivers like Lando Norris, Carlos Saiz, Charles Leclerc and George Russell look to take the fight to Lewis and Max for podiums and race wins.

When asked about Hamilton’s chances of winning his elusive 8th World title in 2022, Sky sport’s pundit Ted Kravitz said “I think he’s still got a very good chance this year, and the next, and the next. I think he’ll only be more motivated. There have already been some great drivers who have tried to stop him from winning the first seven, so I don’t think that affects the way he is or approaches his racing.”

Hamilton looked revitalised following the first Pre-season testing in Barcelona. Hamiton logged in 184 laps across the 3 days and set the fastest lap time of the testing of 1:19:138 on the last day of testing. All eyes will be on Lewis during the Second Pre-season Test in Bahrain on March 10-12.
