Former professional racing driver and wife of Mercedes Team Pricipal Toto Wolff, Susie Wolff has been a key witness to the raging rivalry between Red Bull and Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen shared a heated on track rivalry during the 2021 Formula One season. The Dutchman denied the 7-time World champion his 8th title and claimed a maiden title to his name.

Even the team principals, Christian Horner and Toto Wolff didn’t hesitate in fighting the battle and took multiple digs at each other as the season unfolded. Both Wolff and Horner have not being shy to take jabs at the others teams after Max and Lewis’s rivalry went down the wire.

In a recent podcast, Susie was told about similarities in her driving style with that of Verstappen. She admitted to being a good driver in her own means but not a great in the sport. But denied that she intends to have no comparison with Max Verstappen after desping the Dutchman’s aggressive style of driving.

In a recent episode of Formula One’s Beyond the Grid podcast, Susie Wolff was invited as the guest. Host Tom Clarkson asked a question regarding achievements and style of driving, she was compared with the likes of Max Verstappen and Micheal Schumacher, to which Susie Wolff hesitantly replied, “I am not sure Tom that I am comfortable with comparing me with Max Verstappen.”

She said, “If I am looking back at my career I am incredibly proud of what I have achieved. I have a lot of tenacity and determination, but I was not one of the greats. I always lacked a couple of tenths that took me from the mid-pack to the front of the pack. I had some difficult years in DTM, and part of it was because of the infrastructure in DTM. But I definitely am proud of what I achieved.”

Susie was not shy in describing the questionable methods adopted by Red Bull’s Horner. She described in in Netflix’s fourth season of Formula One based series, Drive to Survive episode 9 and called Horner an “A**hole” who despised husband Toto Wolff for her success.
