After today’s DNF his fiercest rival Max Verstappen has fallen down the pecking order and is now in the sixth slot with 25 points.

Today’s result has got a few more stars for Leclerc as not only he was able to win the race, but was also able to take away the point for the fastest lap and was also voted the driver of the day.

While talking about his adventure “Down Under” Leclerc said, “I didn’t expect to be so dominant. On paper, we were a bit behind Red Bull at this track. We were stronger than we thought, but it was a nice surprise. Last year was difficult for us, but the team managed to build a stronger and reliable engine.”

Charles Leclerc has been driving for the Italian team since 2019 but till this year was not able to put in race-winning performances on a regular basis because of the performance gap Ferrari had to Red Bull and Mercedes during the turbo-hybrid era.

However with the new regulations for 2022 the Formula one landscape has turned on its head and now the “Prancing Horse” has emerged as the team to beat as compared to Red Bull and Mercedes who were the usual front runners till last year.

while talking about his team’s strong showing in the first two races, Leclerc has said, “I am incredibly proud to drive for Ferrari. After the last few years, it was not obvious that we would return to this level. We have to keep pushing because the season is long, but it’s an extremely good start.”

The Monegasque driver on one hand is very happy with the start that his team has gotten off to during 2022 but has also warned his team that now is not the time to get complacent, rather they have to keep pushing and doing their best as the season is long and there are still 20 races to go.
