McLaren recently launched their new car, the MCL36, after a mixed 2021 season as they fell behind in the race to finish P3 in the drivers’ championship to Ferrari at the same time McLean was able to secure a GP win for the first time since 2012, with the help of Veteran Daniel Ricciardo, in the Italian GP.
McLaren boss Zak Brown has expressed his thoughts on a new bet with Australian F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo. Zak Brown agreed on a wager with Daniel Ricciardo at the beginning of 2021 as Ricciardo was offered a chance to drive his idol Dale Earnhardt’s No3 Chevrolet, which features in Brown’s extensive collection of historic road and racing cars, and Ricciardo won the bet following his victorious run in Monza.

Zak Brown said the wager is on the discussion stage right now and said he thinks it’s the time of pre-season when the team has to come up with such fun activities. Zak Brown went on to express his thoughts on the personalities of his drivers and the team saying they are fun-loving adding they are also extremely serious when in the car. Zak Brown, they are going to figure out a bet as the team is hoping to celebrate success in 2022 too.
“There is no new bet yet, but it’s now being discussed. I guess it’s that time of [the] pre-season to start having some fun and thinking about what we might want to do to celebrate some sort of success that we have together,” Zak Brown said.
“Our drivers are great personalities, and we have a lot of fun with them. They’re extremely serious once the helmet [is] put on, but I think the environment we have with our drivers and our racing team, we do like to have fun, and that’s part of it. So, we’re going to have to figure that [bet] out because hopefully, we’ll have something to celebrate this year,” Zak Brown added.
When asked whether he will consider another tattoo as the 2022 wager as Zak Brown got a tattoo on his arm to mark Ricciardo’s victory at Monza, Zak Brown replied “I think I’m tattooed out!“
Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris will hit the track with their new Barcelona on 23-25 February for pre-season testing and will be hoping to have good momentum with MCL26 from the 2022 season beginner at Bahrain beginning from March 18.
