Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes have had a tough start to the campaign. The team is 2nd in the constructor’s championship but that doesn’t paint the exact picture as they have looked off pace by a long distance when compared to Red Bull and Ferrari. The standard set by Mercedes in the previous seasons is so high that anything less than that looks like a disappointing result in the scheme of things.

It’s been worse for Lewis Hamilton than his team team George Russell. We saw something which we never believed that something of that sort happen. We saw Lewis Hamilton failing to make it out of Q1 in the Saudi Arabian GP qualifying. He was frustratingly heard saying on the radio, “Can’t seem to improve man.” This is so unlike Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton. It was just shocking to see.

Mercedes were almost a second behind Red Bull on the straights. This is an unprecedented situation for a team that just knows how to dominate. George Russell has been a tad bit better than Lewis Hamilton but was nowhere close to where the team aspires to be. Mercedes has not been able to find solutions to their porpoising problems which has become a headache for both the drivers.

George Russell admitted to how big the problems at Mercedes are, at this point in time. He said, “We’re not here to be battling for P5 or P6.”

“It was a very difficult day for the team, the car is on a knife-edge and getting it in the right window is so difficult.”

But that’s just where we are at the moment. It’s tricky because we’re putting all of our effort into this porpoising issue, and it’s not allowing us to focus on other things. As a team, it’s a bit of a shame.” As reported by gpfans.

Despite all of this, Lewis Hamilton hasn’t lost hope as he expressed on Instagram. He has clarified that no matter how big the problems are, he will keep fighting till the very end like the warrior that he is. We expected nothing else from the seven time world champion in this time of crisis.
