The comments on the never ending debacle of Abu Dhabi have kept flooding even after the testing for the upcoming season has started. Lance Stroll has been the latest one to express his views on the incidents that took place in Abu Dhabi.

The incident, as a consequence, has led to the repositioning of the then race director Michael Masi after a thorough investigation done by the FIA. The race director was given a lot of stick by the fans after the decisions take by him at the spur of the moment.

Lance Stroll has also given his opinion on this issue while sharing the stage with Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon. The Aston Martin driver had sympathy for Michael Masi but also bluntly clarified that the letter of law should be crystal clear and should not be altered at a decisive moment according to the convenience of someone.

There was a sense of disappointment in the tone of the driver as he pondered over the events yet again. He added that there can obviously be some tweaks but such a grave difference between the intention of the law or the rule that was laid down and the implementation of it should not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Lance Stroll said, “Unfortunately I just think it was wrong what happened in Abu Dhabi, we can’t be changing rules during the middle of races, and adapting the rules depending on the situation.”

“Things have to be very clear. Decisions need to be made in whatever the rules say they have to be made it with.”

“So it is definitely a shame to see Michael go or not go, but repositioned and whoever we work with going forward, I think it is important that the rules are as consistent as possible.”

The drivers have been crystal clear about the law needs to be laid down before the start of the season as there can be consistency. Lance Stroll was no different and even Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz sung the same tune. FIA needs to take notice of this as soon as possible.
