“It’s better for some things but is worse in others,” Lando Norris “criticizes” the new F1 cars

Lando Norris the McLaren Formula One driver has recently given his verdict on the new cars and believes it has become difficult for drivers to keep overtaken cars behind for a longer time.
Lando Norris is a bit frustrated by the overtaking capabilities of the new cars and is not a big of the regulations in this regard.
Lando, however, has admitted that the new cars are really fun to drive.
The McLaren drivers assessment has come in the view of the new regulations that have turned the sport upside down. In the first two races of the 2022 season, it has been seen that overtaking has become easy as compared to previous seasons of Formula One.
The cars are now able to follow more closely and for long durations and this has made all the difference when it comes to overtaking.
Lando Norris while talking about the new cars has said, “It’s better for some things but it’s worse in other [areas] because once you overtake, you can’t just drop the guy behind as easily.”
“It’s good for [the viewer] but it’s bad for the guy who’s just overtaken, because [on] the next lap, it is a lot easier for the guy to get back past you.”
Lando Norris believes the new regulations have made racing enjoyable
Lando, on one hand, has criticized the new regulations for the overtaking opportunities it has provided but on the other hand, feels that it has made racing way more enjoyable as compared to past seasons of Formula One.
“It makes for a better show, and that’s the whole part of it, it adds to the racing,” Norris said.
“I think it’s just more fun, it makes it a lot more enjoyable for us. We’re not going, ‘Oh, we got a whole race of just sitting behind each other not doing anything.”
“Now we can actually look forward to some good battles and you can have a chance to go forward as well, which is always nice.”
Lando is pleased that the new regulations have made racing more enjoyable to watch and is somewhat satisfied with the new dynamics that have come into play in Formula One because of the new regulations.
