Formula 1: Lewis Hamilton sends emotional Valtteri Bottas rallying cry ahead of season finale

Valtteri Bottas, Lewis Hamilton

Although Valtteri Bottas might have not endured the best of his Formula 1 seasons in 2021 yet his contribution to the team’s and Lewis Hamilton’s success has been beyond description. After replacing Nico Rosberg ever since the latter’s triumph over Hamilton, Bottas has always been pivotal for the Brackley-based domination in the turbo hybrid era.

Now as the Finn driver is about to part ways with Mercedes and more importantly Lewis Hamilton, the 36-years-old Brit has nothing but respect and admiration for his current teammate ahead of the qualifying session on Saturday.

Bottas has been with the German giants since 2017 and has formed an impressive partnership with Hamilton, who took to social media on Friday to big up his partner. He posted, “We’ve come a long way, me and @ValtteriBottas. Let’s do it up big for our last as teammates.”

Lewis Hamilton also included a picture of the two embracing, and he will clearly miss Bottas in the future. Valtteri Bottas currently sits in third place in the standings on 218 points, 28 clear of his nearest challenger Red Bull’s Sergio Perez, who is on 190.

Having said that, with the Constructor’s Championship also not settled, Bottas will have to register at least a decent performance in Abu Dhabi in order for the Brackley-based team to win once again in the turbo hybrid era.
