Lewis Hamilton the former 7 times Formula One World Champion is in line to get honorary citizenship from Brazil for the love that the Brit has shown towards the country and its people in recent years.
There are very strong people in Brazil who are pushing hard to make Lewis Hamilton an honorary citizen of Brazil.
Brazil has held a special place in Hamilton’s career from the beginning as Ayrton Senna was Lewis Hamilton’s role model and over the years to show his love towards the Brazilian legend, Hamilton has come out for races supporting Helmet designs dedicated to Ayrton Senna.
The people of Brazil also love Hamilton and in the recent past have not shied away from showing their love for the Brit. Hamilton and the Brazilian fans currently have a love-love relationship and because of this, there are people who want Lewis to be an honorary citizen of their country.
Lewis Hamilton wants to visit Brazil more often
Lewis Hamilton has over the years fallen in love with the country and has previously many times indicated that he wants to visit as often as possible. While talking about his desire Hamilton has recently said, “I want to spend more time in Brazil. There is such a beautiful culture here. I’ve only been to Rio (de Janeiro) and Sao Paulo, but I want to come back here for Christmas, New Year, or something like that.”
Hamilton previously has been invited to Brazil by stars like Neymar and surfer Gabriel Medina but has never had the chance to visit. “I’m still waiting for my passport.”
There are very low chances that Hamilton would get a Brazilian passport but Congressman Andre Figueiredo has made a case for giving Hamilton honorary citizenship after the 2021 Brazilian Grand Prix.
One can’t attach a nationality to this but it is a huge honor when one gets it from another country. Lewis Hamilton brought out the Brazilian flag last season during his podium celebration and that gesture by Hamilton has found a place in the hearts of the people of Brazil.
This is one of the main reasons why some people in Brazil are pushing to make Hamilton an honorary citizen of their country.
