‘Lewis Hamilton’s time might be over,’ Helmut Marko claims ‘age’ might hunt down seven time champion
Lewis Hamilton and Helmut Marko
Helmut Marko has given a controversial interview in which he has attacked the former world champion Lewis Hamilton even after his heroics in the second half of the season. Helmut Marko has claimed that it’ll be next to impossible for Lewis to maintain the level for long now.
Lewis Hamilton has had shown absolutely no signs of slowing down. He has gotten better with age and went shoulder to shoulder with the modern greats like he used to do it with the veterans of the game.
Lewis Hamilton, on the contrary, has claimed publicly that the best version of him is yet to be unleashed and we could it see it this year. We can safely say that he’s not short of motivation at this point in time after what happened in Abu Dhabi. So that shall not be a problem.
Max Verstappen has brought out the best version of him in the last few seasons and experts believe that he’s yet to reach his best version which can mean curtains for every other driver. It might be too tall of an order for Lewis Hamilton too.
“He is a world champion now and will only get stronger“: Helmut Marko
Keeping in mind Max’s form and Lewis’s age, Helmut Marko said, “Hamilton delivered an incredible second half of the season. I can hardly imagine that he can drive at this level for much longer. He’s at his peak now and age is starting to come into play.”
“I do not think Lewis Hamilton can perform much better than he did in 2021.” According to the Austrian, “the seven-time world champion is at his peak and the years are starting to count.”
“However, the opposite is happening with Verstappen. With an age difference of thirteen years, Verstappen is actually still growing. The 2021 world title will only help that. He is a world champion now and will only get stronger,” the Austrian concluded, as reported by gpblog.
Lewis Hamilton’s age might be a factor but to write off the former seven time world champion after the performances of last will be utter foolishness and nobody including Max Verstappen can even think of making that mistake. Lewis Hamilton has shut down his critics before and still has everything in his arsenal to do that.
