It is believed that as per Martin there are no obvious replacements for Micheal Masi at the moment and feels that the role as FIA race director is too big of a job to be handled by just one person.

While talking about it Martin has said “I don’t know if that’s tenable, all-around. Who would you replace him with? Be careful what you wish for, I would say in this.”

What I know for sure is that changing Micheal Masi will not fix the problem. This is way too big a job for one person to handle this in a 23-race season. It’s only going to grow we are all over the world.”

They had it all under control, but it is just growing exponentially so Masi if he stays, needs a lot more support around him and I suspect that’s what they are looking at, at the moment. And who would actually want to step into his shoes right now?” said Brundle.

Martin Brundle is on point in his assessment as being a racing director in Formula1 is a tough gig, given the unpredictability of the sport. Martin’s suggestion of having more than one race director is something that makes sense given that the races are increasing year on year.

Having multiple racing directors on a rotation basis might just be what the FIA might be looking for. What are your thoughts on this?
