“Max Verstappen could be halfway to Lewis Hamilton’s record by 2028” Damon Hill on Dutchman’s Red Bull contract

Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton
Damon Hill the former motorsports racing driver has predicted that by the time Max Verstappen’s current new deal would come to an end, there are very good chances that he would already have reached halfway to Lewis Hamilton’s titles record.
It has been stated in GPblog that Damon Hill believes, with a world title and a new contract under his belt Max Verstappen is going into the 2022 F1 season full of confidence and is going to do everything in his power to make sure that he is able to defend his 2021 title.
Damon Hill feels the Dutchman has a bright future ahead of him and has said, “I’d be feeling pretty relaxed if I’d just signed a five-year deal worth forty million a year. It must help that you got one in the bag. You can now carry on with what world champions do, nothing is ever going to change that.”

Max Verstappen after signing the new contract till 2028 has become the first driver ever in the history of the sport to sign such a long contract, this speaks volumes about the confidence that both parties have in each other going ahead into the future.
Can Max Verstappen live up to the faith shown in him by Red Bull?

Damon Hill has given a very interesting analogy about Max Verstappen’s future and has said, “Let’s say Red Bull have got it right, that run of success like they did with Sebastian Vettel, Max’ got one world championship, let’s say he wins another three. He’s halfway before he’s 28 to equalling potentially Lewis Hamilton and Micheal Schumacher, or if Lewis gets his eighth. He’s on track for this ridiculously long career, winning many world championships.”
The 2022 F1 season is getting underway in just a few days and after signing such a huge contract, all eyes are going to be on the young dutchman’s performances during the season, whether he will thrive or crumble under the added pressure is still to be seen.

Red Bull’s new challenger the RB18 was really good in terms of performance during testing in Barcelona and Bahrain and their team adviser Helmut Marko believes that the RB18 is on par with Ferrari.
But one thing that Ferrari doesn’t have is a world champion behind the wheel during 2022, this could prove to be the factor that would help Red Bull in getting an advantage over Ferrari.
