‘Max Verstappen is aggressive, But so am I,’ Charles Leclerc geared up to take the fight to the reigning world champion

Charles Leclerc
Max Verstappen is as fierce as it comes in Formula 1. The reigning world champion has had its fair share of troubles because of his sometimes over the top aggressive driving. But it has brought him more joy than criticism. Nobody has ever had the audacity to do to Lewis Hamilton what he did last year. The Dutchman, with an inferior car, was pushing it to the limits and put the seven time world champion in an uncomfortable situation on more than one occasion.
But that same tactic didn’t seem to work with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc who has clarified that he won’t back down from a knife fight, if a situation of that sort appears. He also showed us a glimpse of the same in the season opener in Bahrain. Charles Leclerc was on top of his game throughout the weekend as he secured pole during qualifying and led on race day from start to finish, helping Ferrari to get off to a flyer.
But there was time in the race when Charles Leclerc was under immense pressure from the current world champion, Max Verstappen. But he looked under control during that period too. Max Verstappen was in full flight as he looked to take the lead from the Ferrari driver. But Charles Leclerc was having none of it as he went head to head with Max. Leclerc had the bit between his teeth and was in no mood to let that victory slip.
Charles Leclerc unafraid of the fierce driving style of the current world champion Max Verstappen

Charles Leclerc has made it clear that he means business and will match Max Verstappen move for move in the upcoming season of F1. In a post race interview, he said, “With the first three overtakes, I knew he was going to try, so I wasn’t surprised.”
“But anyway, it was not a problem for me. It’s a type of racing I like. It is hard racing, as we have seen with Max in the past. But I’m also an aggressive driver in the way I fight with others.”
“I enjoy hard racing like this but fair racing. So I don’t think there was anything wrong in all of those overtakes.” As reported by the race.
Max Verstappen has his work cut out if he wants to retain his world championship. It’s Charles Leclerc 1- Max Verstappen 0, after the first race of the season. But this is in no way over, keeping in mind the mentality Max Verstappen possesses. This means he’s going to come back harder in the next race in Saudi Arabia in a week’s time.
