McLaren confirm Daniel Ricciardo return for Bahrain GP after negative covid-19 test
McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo
The McLaren F1 team has recently confirmed that their star driver Daniel Ricciardo is all set to return for the Bahrain Grand Prix of the 2022 F1 season.
The McLaren team via their TWITTER handle has made it known that Daniel Ricciardo has had several negative tests and is going to be available for the team from Thursday onwards.
As per the official TWEET, “Daniel has been feeling better each day as he continued to recover in isolation following local regulations in Bahrain.”
Daniel was not feeling well ever since landing in Bahrain and as a result, was not able to take part in the first two days of the Bahrain testing. Later on, it was discovered that Daniel had “covid” and it then ruled him out of the third day of testing as well.
Because of this problem, Lando was asked to drive for the team on the final day of testing and in Daniel’s absence, Lando had no option but to put in a shift on all three days of testing.
Daniel Ricciardo looking to get up to speed
Daniel Ricciardo looked really good during the Barcelona testing and it was believed that Daniel had found the form that he was looking for during the last season.
Ever since coming to Bahrain luck has not been with Daniel Ricciardo or the McLaren F1 team as they have suffered through various sets of problems. But now that Daniel is back, he and the team would be looking to do the maximum in order to get Daniel back up to speed with Lando Norris.
For Daniel, the practice sessions of the Bahrain Grand Prix are going to be absolutely crucial and it is going to be up to the team to make sure the Australian is able to understand everything that has gone on in his absence.
McLaren F1 team would be looking to hit the ground running during the first Grand Prix of the season and if McLaren wants to show that they are also in the running for the 2022 title, then Lando and Daniel would have to do everything necessary in order to make sure that they both are up there when the chequered flag falls on the Bahrain GP.
