As teams reveal new machinery for the upcoming season, they also prepare for a rundown before the Testing season begins. But with the season fast approaching, the schedules are tightly compressed. In an interview with Autosport, team principal Andreas Seidl revealed the schedule for Mclaren and their constraints.

“Similar to probably every other team, we’re also planning to do a filming day very close to the start of the official test in Barcelona,” said Seidl. “That’s in the schedule. [We] still have a lot of boxes to tick in the next week to be finally ready for that.”

“But with the great work everyone is putting in under the leadership of Piers [Thynne], James [Key] and Andrea [Stella], I’m absolutely confident that we’ll be ready.” Mclaren will be doing a test 2 days prior to the official testing in Barcelona from 23rd to 25th February.

F1 teams are allotted two days and 100 Kilometers in distance after the official car launch for filming and marketing purposes. Teams use one of their two permitted filming days for each year ahead of testing as a first shakedown before the start of official on-track running.
