Mercedes bringing back the silver livery in 2022
Mercedes
Mercedes, the Brackley-based Formula1 team is all set to bring back their iconic silver livery for the 2022 Formula1 season. The silver arrows are going to be the silver arrows in the upcoming season of Formula1. This has not been the case for the last two years in Formula1.
It has been stated in the BILD that the Mercedes is bringing back the silver on their livery for the 2022 season and has quoted “what has been rumored around the paddock for some time was decided by the bosses in the Season Finale.” This is certainly good news for all the fans who have been begging the team to bring back the silver livery.
The Mercedes Formula1 team decided to switch from silver to black in the year 2020. They did that to show their support for the ‘Black Lives Matter’ campaign and also to show their commitment to bringing diversity in motorsports.
This move by them was welcomed with open arms by all the fans and pundits of the sport. Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes opened a foundation in 2021 as an attempt to bring more diversity into the sport. By the end of 2023, a double-digit million amount will have come together which will be paid in equal parts by Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton.
George Russell to have his first season with Mercedes in a silver arrow
During the 2022 season of Formula1, two changes are heading the way of the Formula1 team. First is the change to their livery from black to silver and the other change is coming up in their driver line up. The previous Williams team driver George Russell is all set to drive for the silver arrows in the 2022 season of Formula1.
The silver arrows were able to win 6 consecutive titles with silver on their livery and George would be hoping for that trend to continue when he joins the team for the 2022 season of the Formula1. Silver brought good fortunes for the team from 2014 till 2020 and the whole Mercedes team including George and Lewis would be hoping that it is going to make them into a title-winning machine again.
