“My purpose is more than just winning World Championships,” Lewis Hamilton marches on in his fight for diversity in Formula 1

Lewis Hamilton taking a knee against racism
Lewis Hamilton has time and again laid down the importance of making Formula 1 a more inclusive sport. The seven time world champion has been at the pinnacle of the sport and has won everything that is there is there to be won in the sport. But his aspirations are not limited to winning another championship. He wants to use the influence around the world to bring about a real change in the society.
Lewis Hamilton has often highlighted the fact he’s not a people pleaser and he will always say what needs to be said for the good of the society even if that makes someone uncomfortable. The success that he has been able to achieve has come at a cost for the former world champion. Lewis Hamilton has had to struggle real hard to make it big in a sport that has been dominated by non black people.
The Briton has often shared his instances of racism while he was a rookie. But that didn’t hold him back. He was head strong about the goals that he had set for himself and didn’t allow anything or anyone to stop him in his tracks. Since he is in a position of influencing a large audience across the world, he wants to use it stand up for the right thing and speak out.
Lewis Hamilton has time and again proved with his strive for more diversity that he’s more than just a driver of Formula 1

Lewis Hamilton has always recognized him as more than just a driver. The Briton recently said, “I’ve got this platform and I am able to apply pressure in an uncomfortable way sometimes but also it is a real opportunity to spark that change.”
“That for me is more rewarding than any championship.”
“My goal is that in the next five, ten years you’re looking back at the sport and I am watching TV, hopefully with my kids, and they see young women engineers and mechanics and they’ll know there is an opportunity.” As reported by skysports.
Lewis Hamilton has never been afraid to express his feelings even if that comes at a cost of making someone uncomfortable. The former champion has always prioritized bringing about a change over anything else and we all wish him luck in his quest to do the right thing.
