Formula 1 official You Tube channel hit new Milestone in viewership’s following the dramatic 2021 season

The 2021 season can be defined as dramatic and competitive among many , as the season saw six different GP winners and the insane title dual between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. The “Formula 1”, the official YouTube channel of F1 regularly uploaded highlights of major Grand Prix and other contents  starring  Formula 1 drivers. The channel also has  live stream of pre-and-post race section of multiple GPs along  uploads content on Formula 1 updates.

The sports have attracted a growing demand in the sporting world  which saw Formula 1 YouTube channel which has  6.9 mil subscribers crossing the milestone of 4 billion total views.  The Formula 1 channel is the most subscribed motorsports official channel toping  MotoGP 4.6 million subscribers and  NASCAR with 798,000 subscribers.

The most-watched video on the Formula 1 channel is a 2019 clip titled, “10 most dramatic moments in the pits.” Which has  received 26 million views , which is followed by the controversial 2021 Abu Dhabi GP, highlights with 16 million to date. The significance of the Abu Dhabi GP and debates surrounding it ensures the probability of the highlight reel becoming the most viewed in the future.

The growing demand for Formula 1 was also evident in the data published by ESPN which is one of Formula 1’s official broadcasters which showed that 963,000 viewers on ESPN2 witnessed  Max Verstappen’s  title glory in the last lap of Abu Dhabi GP. The 2021 season average of 934,000 viewers was up 54 percent over the 2020 season average of 608,000 viewers.

The glory and excitement of the 2021 season was shadowed by the title deciding controversial unlapping decision from the race director Michael Masi which is deemed against the rule from a huge part of Formula 1 world questioning its credibility. FIA is on full swing to clear the confusion in the air about the Abu Dhabi GP amidst growing speculation that Formula 1 race director Michael Masi will be fired.

The new FIA statement says that the final report on Abu Dhabi GP incident will be tabled on World Motor Sport Council meeting on 18 March in Bahrain for approval before presenting it on Formula 1 Commission meeting in London on 14 February.

At this stage, no decision has been taken on the outcome of the detailed analysis currently underway into the events of the last Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

As previously announced, the findings of this detailed analysis will be presented at the F1 Commission meeting in London on 14 February after an open discussion with all F1 drivers and then finally have to be approved at the World Motor Sport Council meeting on 18 March in Bahrain, under the authority of FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.”

The 2022 season which will run under new sets of regulation featuring an whole new challenger are keeping fans at their tows awaiting the upcoming season. The uncertainty of Lewis Hamilton’s return to the grid following the 2021 Abu Dhabi “steal” is also of importance for the fans as they are highly expecting another campaign of Lewis Hamilton intense fight against Max Verstappen, the 2022 defending champion.
