Saudi Arabia GP: Will Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo power a McLaren comeback in Jeddah?

McLaren
The McLaren F1 team drivers Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo have had a pretty disappointing start to their 2022 campaign as the duo finished in14th and 15th position in the 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix.
Lando has recently made a few comments on the state of affairs at McLaren and has warned everyone that they could be in for a “bit more pain” in the coming races of the 2022 F1 season.
Lando while talking about the upcoming Saudi Arabia Grand Prix and the season ahead has said, “I’m expecting pain“

“I think everyone needs to know there’s probably going to be a bit of pain. As McLaren, and myself, we expect a lot more, but it’s not what we have at the minute, we have to get used to it, we’ve been in this position a few years ago but we have to remain optimistic about the team and everyone back at MTC [McLaren Technology Centre] can figure things out and we can get back on track.”
“We still have a whole season of development and figuring things out,” he added.
Things are not looking very promising for Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo ahead of the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix

If we go by what Lando Norris has said about the MCL36 and its prospects, it seems the McLaren team themselves are not very optimistic ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Lando is not expecting McLaren to be challenging the front runners in Saudi Arabia and feels that they are again going to find themselves in a similar position as they did in Bahrain.
Saudi Arabia is a fast-paced street circuit and given the state of affairs at McLaren, things are not looking very bright for the papaya-colored team.
Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo are not expecting that things are suddenly going to change in Saudi Arabia but are hopeful that as the season would progress they will get better.

During last season’s Saudi Arabia Grand Prix McLaren was able to score points with both their drivers as Lando finished 10th and Daniel an impressive 5th but this time around things are not as “merry” as they were for the team last season.
Given what Lando has said about his team, it is highly unlikely that we are going to witness a major comeback from the team in Saudi Arabia. Moreover, the team could be again seen dwindling out of points-scoring positions in Saudi Arabia.
