“Sebastian Vettel is now fit to race,” Aston Martin confirms the return of the four time world champion for the Australian GP

Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel
Sebastian Vettel is yet to kick start his season after contracting COVID-19 just before the season opener in Bahrain. We all expected him to be back for the Saudi Arabian GP but the German couldn’t make it in time for the race and had to sit that one out too. But he will return to action in less than a couple of weeks’ time for the Australian GP. All his fans can take a sigh of relief now.
Along with his fans, his team can also take a sigh of relief after a horrendous start to the season. The team has failed to register a single point in the two races. Nico Hulkenberg was chosen as an ideal replacement for Sebastian Vettel but he, unlike Kevin Magnussen, wasn’t able to adapt to the new challenger after a return to the sport after he drove as a replacement for Racing Point’s Sergio Perez in 2020.
Aston Martin has had to pay the price for that. We all expected Lance Stroll to step up in the absence of Sebastian Vettel. But it has been way worse than expected. Lance Stroll was outqualified by his team mate Nico Hulkenberg in Bahrain, which didn’t go down well with most of the pundits. The German’s return to Formula 1 could be a blessing for Lance Stroll as it could give him a push to do better.
Sebastian Vettel set to kick off his 2022 F1 season at the Australian Grand Prix

Nico Hulkenberg was sure of Sebastian Vettel’s return to action for the Australian GP. Nico, after the Saudi Arabian GP, said, “I might go in closer proximity to Australia, so that I’m kind of on standby, and if there is a situation then I’m at least not in Europe, but a bit closer.”
“The last 10 days were very unexpected, very eventful, busy, very intense, but I enjoyed them.”
“I think in a few years’ time, I’ll look back to this with happy memories.” As reported by motorsport.
Nico Hulkenberg has done whatever he could do in a short period of time. It would be cruel to compare him to Sebastian Vettel as he had a full preseason with the new challenger, especially after the massive overhaul in regulations. Let’s hope the German’s return can help Aston Martin register some points on the board.
