“That is Rubbish”: Nico Rosberg defends Lewis Hamilton by giving angry reply to Jenson Button

Lewis Hamilton will start the Abu Dhabi GP race from P2 after being slower that Max Verstappen in the qualifying session. Moreover, with the seven-time world champion failing to secure pole position, former world champion, Jenson Button suggested that the Brit was well-below-par on Saturday. Now, Hamilton’s former teammate, Nico Rosberg comes out to dismiss all such claims and surprisingly defended the former ahead of the raceday.
With Lewis Hamilton winning the three previous grand prix, he managed to cut Verstappen’s 22-point lead (at one-point of time) to ensure that he heads into the season finale on same number of points. However, in the aftermath of the qualifying session, Rosberg, who himself had a furious rivalry with former team-mate Hamilton, had stern words for Button on the issue of his hot lap.
What was opinionated by Nico Rosberg?
“It probably wasn’t his [Hamilton’s] best qualifying session, but for Lewis a bad qualifying session is still up there with our best,” Button told Sky Sports.
But Rosberg responded by stating as per Express.co.uk, “I think that is rubbish.
“In my view he delivered a great lap today. He said himself, the lap was clean. And let’s not forget where his team-mate [Valtteri Bottas] is. But the other guy [Verstappen] pulled out something magical.”
Having said that, Mercedes will have to ensure that Sergio Perez too doesn’t make his second-row position count with Bottas starting from P6. Now with all to play for, let us see whether or not Lewis Hamilton can go onto break the world record?
