“The championship isn’t won in Barcelona winter testing,” George Russell and Lando Norris engage in classic pre season mind games
Lando Norris and George Russell
McLaren had a terrific pre season as Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo sprinkled their magic on the track with their new challenger MCL36. Lando Norris was the pace setter on the first day with a fastest lap nosing out Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. This might be an indication of the things to come but McLaren can’t take their eye of the ball.
On the other hand, Mercedes has had it tough throughout the pre season as Lewis Hamilton finished P16 on Day 2 and George Russell was also not on top of his game. But we are well aware of what they can do between now and to the start of the season. Despite George Russell having an average pre season, the driver hasn’t held back in the press conferences.
The season might not have started but Lando and George Russell are already in a battle of words
Lando Norris and George Russell have resorted to the classic pre season mind games as they targeted each other and the rivals. Despite between on the opposite ends of the pre season the duo has left no stones unturned as they try to find that edge over the other before the start of the season.
We are unsure of what we can expect in the upcoming season of F1 but the banter between the two has definitely has the whole F1 community buzzing with anticipation and excitement.
George Russell recently said, “Things will probably look very different with the development by the time we get to Bahrain. Maybe Lando [Norris] is playing mind games, but we’re not!”
Back to McLaren and Ferrari, Russell added: “They seem to have things well under control and they’re on top of everything. They look very strong on low fuel, high fuel, and with the tyre management.
“Who knows? Let’s wait and see. The championship isn’t won in Barcelona winter testing.” As reported by planetf1.
The pre season has been full of surprises as the usual suspects failed to dominate the show and two new horses enter the competition. This could set the tone for the season as the fans anticipate in expectation.
