“There are so many more elements to who I am,” Lewis Hamilton explains he doesn’t want to be just recognized as a ‘driver’

Lewis Hamilton has been a stalwart of Formula 1 and an idol across sports. The level of excellence and the character that the world champion has shown is absolutely astonishing. Nobody can deny how talent the former world champion possess. The Briton has had complete dominance over the sport until it was taken away by Max Verstappen.

Lewis Hamilton was involved in an absolute war with Red Bull and Max Verstappen and that fight went to the absolute wire which ended with Max Verstappen pipping the former champion for the title. But the loss could be partially attributed to a blunder committed by the FIA which led to Lewis Hamilton lose control of the race and in turn the title.

But even after the loss, Lewis Hamilton went on to win hearts all over the globe. This happened after Lewis Hamilton went straight to Max Verstappen to congratulate even after losing such a heartbreaking loss in the last lap of the last race of the season. The decision broke him and that was hinted by his absence from social media but Lewis didn’t lose his calm and composure while everyone around him was losing it.

Lewis Hamilton said, “He has never wanted to be defined by being just a driver because there are so many more elements to who I am.” As reported on Twitter.

This shows the class of the person who decided to take loss in his stride and did what a person should do in a situation of adversity. Apart from this, he’s a complete family man. As soon he returned from his exile from social media, we saw his pictures with his family enjoying the break from the sport and recuperating his emotions in the process to go at it again.
