Daniel Ricciardo the McLaren Formula One driver after yesterday’s race has stated that in his opinion there was a very good chance for McLaren to score points with both cars during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

The McLaren team was fighting with front brake issues in Bahrain and that hampered their chances of coming out with points there, however, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix has brought some much-needed positives for the papaya-colored team.

Daniel Ricciardo on his yesterday’s stint, “I lost drive so there could be several things, maybe drive shaft if I was to guess but I am no mechanic so don’t take my word for it.”

Think we could’ve had double points which would have been pretty awesome from where we were a week ago.”

I think there are some positives to take from the weekend for sure, we still have a lot to go but certainly some progress which is nice.”

I think the racing is fun; you can follow this year and I think everything that we hoped would come out of these new cars so far is true, so I am very happy with that and like watching the battle for the lead.”

Course I want to be there but to know we can fight hard like that this year is really exciting so hopefully we will be battling for some bigger positions soon.”

Daniel Ricciardo believes the swift improvement with the MCL36 was because of Saudi track characteristics. In his opinion, the characteristics suited the MCL36 and state it as the main reason behind the improved performance in Jeddah.

Round 3 of the 2022 F1 season is going to take the teams to Australia and given it is also Ricciardo’s home race, he would be really looking forward to racing in front of his home fans and putting on a good show for everyone.
