“Thought everyone would come up with a similar design,” Carlos Sainz surprised seeing teams with unique designs

Carlos Sainz is preparing for a fruitful second year with Ferrari ahead of the 2022 F1 season. The Spaniard will be pairing up with Charles Leclerc and will be racing the newly launched Ferrari F1-75 with the aim to claim their first race win since the 2019 Singapore Grand Prix.

The regulation changes ahead of the 2022 F1 Championship have come into the picture and with most of the Car Launches covered, teams have crafter their machinery under the new changes. The new changes in Aerodynamics, Power-units, Tyres and Monocoque aim to deliver better racing and have been projected to make the season more Challenging.

With teams choosing to launch their cars via digital presentation, many hidden key design elements have been kept well hidden beneath the covers. The real test of cars will be tested ahead during the Pre-season Tests in Barcelona and Bahrain ahead of the season.

The Spanish racer could not stop drooling over his new machinery nor could he stop admiring the different designs every team have gone for. The new F1-75 boasts a darker red and black livery and is one of the meanest looking machinery on the grid.

“I think it looks aggressive, it looks radical, and I think it looks beautiful also… I just hope it’s fast. It’s innovative, different, thinking a bit out of the box. I like it because it’s just radical, which is what you want to see when you see a new car,” said Sainz.

Sainz said in an interview, he is surprised by the different designs teams have opted for. “The regulations were so strict that we all thought everyone would come up with a similar design,” he said. The new begins would help make the racing more exciting as we step into a new era.

The ultimate real test of the cars and the efforts of the engineers will be seen on the pre-season running at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya next week. The 2022 F1 season will begin with the first race scheduled on March 18 from Bahrain.
