AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly has had an eventful Pre-season Testing in Bahrain. on the first day itself, Gasly covered a century of laps which was the highest laps covered on the first day by any driver. The French man punched well above his weight and recorded the fastest time on Day 1 of testing at the Bahrain Grand Prix circuit.

Gasly didn’t stop his punching practice with the first day, but recently on the final day of practice, went head-to-head with none other than the 7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton. The two ‘s duel made the highlight of the morning session.

On day 2 of the Pre-season testing, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen went elbows-out against Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz. With 40 minutes to go for the day the two battled for every inch of the track from turn 1 to turn 5. And now Gasly and Hamilton are yet again proving the fact that Testing is not that boring after all!

Pierre Gasly P3 in the final days Morning session, Lewis Hamilton P9

Lewis Hamilton and Pierre Gasly duelled wheel-to-wheel with just over an hour remaining in the morning session. The duo’s battle was caught on camera and was very well the most exciting bit of the morning session. Meanwhile, Red Bull’s Sergio Perez posted the fastest time of the day.

Pierre Gasly went on to cover 91 laps of the Bahrain International Circuit. The Frenchman set the third faster time of the day with a 1:34:865. While Hamilton could only rank P9 on the final session of practice with a time of 1:36:217. The Brit covered 78 laps for Mercedes who seem to be slightly off the pace since unveiling their new sidepods on the W13.

The final day of practice ended with an FIA red flag. Teams will have another 4 hours of practice in the afternoon session. Bahrain will hold the season’s first event on March 20 as the Bahrain Grand Prix kicks off the 22-race long 2022 Formula One Calendar.
